Project Title: Rumsey Rancheria Fire Station No. 25

Architectural Firm: RRM Design Group
Comments: Now spotlighted on many Casino marketing materials, the attractive Station and its materials blend seamlessly with the rest of the Casino development, fulfilling the aesthetic wishes of the Tribal Council.

Although the Casino development was contentious for neighbors along the highway 160 corridor, the Station incorporated designs to support community activities and groups. The lobby itself represents the tribal council’s community outreach effort, offering a friendly, open, and civic-style gathering space.
Location: Brooks, CA
Owner: Cache Creek Casino Resort

Project Title: The Welch Project

Architectural Firm: Cooper Kessel Architect
Comments: This home, located in Kirkwood, California at an 8000 foot elevation, was designed to accommodate a large extended family as a retreat and to take advantage of the natural alpine beauty of the site. This is a four-story log home with over 6,300 square feet of living space, five bedrooms, seven baths and a two car garage.

Due to its mountain location, the house was designed to withstand severe winter conditions and a 325 psf snow load.

Exterior decks are largely protected from weather with overhangs, allowing year-round use, while expansive windows take advantage of the views provided by the site.
Location: Kirkwood, California
